SEND White Paper

We know many of you are waiting for the SEND White Paper and wondering what it will mean for your child or young person, especially after all of the leaks, speculation, and reports in the press. With so much information circulating, we wanted to make a few things clear.

As soon as the final version is published, we will take time to read it carefully. We have not seen the White Paper yet and, like everyone else, will only be able to review it once it is officially released. We will then share clear, accurate information about what it says and what it means in practice.

For now, nothing changes straight away. There will be a 12‑week consultation period. After that, any proposed changes would still need to go through the legal process before they could come into force. That takes time.

There is no immediate change to the support, provision or legal rights your child or young person currently has.

We will keep you updated at each stage and make sure parent carer views are fed into the consultation. We will also share how you can be involved and have your say.
